Calvary Jail Ministry exists to share the love of God (John 3:16) and proclaim repentance and forgiveness of sins in the name of Jesus (Luke 24:47), and make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20) of the incarcerated in Forsyth, Davidson, Davie, and Iredell counties.
Discipleship is the method Jesus instituted to spread the good news of salvation in Him so that we can take what we have seen and heard and entrust to others who are faithful who will be able to teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2). We have designed and implemented a local reentry program centered on discipleship where our ministry volunteers present the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ, and provide biblical instruction to inmates. When an inmate is released, follow up is anchored by local churches, facilitating successful reentry of inmates into the community. Released inmates are also directed to pertinent support services for any employment, educational, or recovery needs. We see God’s purpose for our ministry being the successful reentry of released inmates into their communities creating a culture that says Christ is the solution to man’s problem of depravity and separation from God, and our belief is God’s purpose of changed hearts making changed lives will prevail (Proverbs 19:21). We invite you to get to know Calvary Jail Ministry and our hope is that the information and resources available on this site will help accomplish that. We know that God is responsible for the results, and our prayer is that the light shining from the released inmates life-change would cause others to glorify God (Matthew 5:16). We are now able to serve in Iredell County! |
